Ancient River Films is a creative studio with bases in Los Angeles, Dallas, Miami and now Cairo. Filmmakers Ali Kareem, Maicon Desouza, and Mustafa Eck met at USC’s School of Cinematic Arts and have been collaborating ever since. The three filmmakers hail from Iraq, Brazil, and Egypt respectively. Their roots growing up in the lands of the Euphrates, Amazon and Nile rivers have shaped their world views and artistic sensibilities. Ancient River Films aims to tell stories that highlight our shared humanity and employ storytelling as the means to bridge geographic and cultural barriers.
